Senior Lighting Designer

Overview

Harford Sound is continuing to grow and we're looking for a Senior Lighting Designer to help engineer and document the productions that power our expanding operation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the technical side of live events, designing lighting systems, creating production documentation, and solving complex production challenges before a truck ever leaves the warehouse.

This is an engineering-focused role inside a working production company. The right person is highly organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys building the systems and documentation that allow crews to execute successful events.

What You'll Do:

• Design production systems: Create Vectorworks drawings, lighting plots, patch sheets, power plans, and technical documentation for productions ranging from corporate events to major festivals.

• Engineer production packages: Build complete equipment lists and ensure every project is organized, accurate, and ready for warehouse preparation.

• Support Project Managers: Work alongside Project Managers throughout the planning process to develop practical, efficient production solutions.

• Support warehouse operations: Assist warehouse staff during larger builds, answer technical questions, and help ensure productions leave the shop show-ready.

• Improve production standards: Help develop documentation standards, workflows, and engineering processes that improve efficiency across the company.

• Provide occasional on-site support: Assist with larger productions, installs, and specialty events when your technical expertise is needed.

Who You Are:

• Minimum 3 years of professional live event production experience

• Strong experience with Vectorworks

• Experienced designing lighting systems for live events

• Knowledge of lighting networking, DMX distribution, and power distribution

• Familiar with MA3 control platforms

• Highly organized with excellent documentation skills

• Strong communicator who enjoys working collaboratively

• Current RMS experience is a plus

• Audio, video, or rigging knowledge is a plus

Production Sales Manager

Overview:

Harford Sound is entering its next phase of growth—and we’re looking for a Production Sales Manager to help expand our reach. This role is designed for someone who knows the live events space, understands how to build lasting relationships, and wants to play a key role in growing an established production company.

This is a sales role inside a working production company. The right person understands live production, communicates well with clients, and is motivated to generate new opportunities while strengthening existing relationships.

What You’ll Do:

• Drive growth: Generate new business across concerts, touring, festivals, and live events, while strengthening relationships with existing clients.

• Build relationships: Develop and maintain connections with promoters, venues, production managers, agencies, and event organizers.

• Develop opportunities: Identify and pursue new clients, markets, and production opportunities.

• Collaborate with operations: Work closely with project managers and technical leadership to ensure projects are quoted accurately and executed successfully.

• Represent the brand: Be visible in the field on site, at shows, in meetings, and at industry events representing Harford Sound professionally.

Who You Are:

• Experienced in live event production, touring, venue production, or production rental sales

• A strong communicator who builds trust easily with clients and partners

• Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently

• Understands production workflows including audio, lighting, video, and staging

• Has existing industry relationships or the ability and drive to build them quickly

• Based within reasonable proximity to Bel Air, MD

Warehouse Technician

Overview

Harford Sound is continuing to grow and we're looking for a Warehouse Technician to help support our expanding production operation. This role is designed for someone who enjoys working hands-on with professional production equipment and takes pride in keeping our warehouse organized, efficient, and ready for show site.

This is a warehouse-first position inside a working production company. The right person is dependable, organized, enjoys working with their hands, and thrives in a fast-paced live events environment.

What You'll Do:

• Support warehouse operations: Assist with equipment prep, organization, quality control, and show returns across audio, lighting, video, and staging departments.

• Prepare productions: Help ensure equipment is tested, labeled, organized, and packaged correctly so every production leaves the warehouse complete and show-ready.

• Maintain warehouse standards: Help keep inventory organized, identify damaged or missing equipment, and help diagnose basic repairs.

• Assist with logistics: Support truck packs, internal equipment transfers, rental pickups/returns, and general warehouse workflow during busy production periods. Occasional truck driving may be required.

• Build and improve: Assist with fabrication, workspace improvements, custom carts, shelving, storage solutions, and other shop-related projects that improve warehouse efficiency.

• Provide occasional on-site support: Assist production teams on select events, installs, and support calls when needed.

Who You Are

• Experience in live event production, warehouse operations, technical theater, or a related field preferred

• Organized, dependable, and self-motivated

• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality work

• Comfortable working in a physically active warehouse environment

• Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting

• Basic carpentry, fabrication, or construction experience is a plus

• Valid driver's license required

• Comfortable driving box trucks or cargo vans preferred

• CDL is a plus, but not required

Repair Shop Technician

Full-Time | Event Tech

Overview:

Event Tech is continuing to grow and we're looking for a Repair Shop Technician to help maintain and improve our expanding inventory of professional production equipment. This role is designed for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, repairing, and building the equipment that powers concerts, festivals, corporate events, and live productions.

This is a hands-on technical position based in our dedicated repair shop. The right person is mechanically minded, enjoys solving problems, and takes pride in figuring out why something failed—not just replacing parts.

What You'll Do:

• Diagnose and repair equipment: Troubleshoot and repair professional audio, lighting, video, power distribution, staging and production equipment.

• Build and repair cables: Fabricate and repair audio, networking, DMX, fiber, power, and specialty cables while maintaining company cable standards.

• Develop technical solutions: Build custom adapters, modify existing equipment, and create practical solutions for unique production challenges.

• Perform preventative maintenance: Inspect equipment, complete scheduled maintenance, install firmware updates, and help extend the lifespan of company assets.

• Coordinate repairs: Process manufacturer warranty claims, outside repairs, and maintain repair records to keep equipment moving efficiently.

• Maintain the repair shop: Keep an organized workspace, manage repair inventory, and continually improve shop organization and workflow.

Who You Are:

• Experienced in live event production, electronics repair, technical theater, or a related field

• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills

• Experienced with soldering, cable fabrication, and connector repair

• Familiar with multimeters, diagnostic equipment, and basic electronic testing

• Organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently

• Enjoy solving technical problems and thinking outside the box

• Comfortable learning new equipment and repair techniques

• Experience with professional audio, lighting, or video equipment is strongly preferred
