DIRECTOR OF SALES & STRATEGY

Full-Time | Harford Sound LLC | Hybrid / Remote Flexibility

Overview:

Harford Sound is entering its next phase of growth—and we’re looking for a Director of Sales & Strategy to help lead the way. This role is designed for someone who knows the live events space, understands how to build lasting relationships, and wants to take an active role in shaping how and where we grow.

This is not just a sales job—it’s a strategic leadership opportunity for someone with vision, grit, and a book of business (or the ability to build one quickly).

What You’ll Do:

  • Drive growth: Lead the sales effort across all sectors—concerts, touring, corporate, branded events, and festivals.

  • Develop strategy: Identify target markets, shape our go-to-market approach, and help refine service offerings to meet demand.

  • Leverage your network: Use existing industry relationships—or hustle to build new ones—to open doors and win work.

  • Collaborate with ops: Work closely with project managers, and leadership to ensure deals are profitable and executable.

  • Represent the brand: Be visible in the market—on site, at shows, in meetings, and at industry events.

Who You Are:

  • A proven closer with 3+ years in live events or production sales

  • Deeply connected—or eager and capable of building a network fast

  • Fluent in the language of AV, lighting, staging, and touring

  • Skilled at balancing short-term sales activity with long-term growth strategy

  • Independent, organized, and outcome-driven

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base Salary: Highly competitive, based on experience and network

  • Bonus: Annual bonus tied to strategic goals and new vertical development

  • Other: Health benefits, PTO, travel stipend, and hybrid flexibility

Why Harford Sound?

We’re a serious player in the mid-Atlantic live events scene—and growing fast. With a combined inventory, crew, and footprint that rivals companies twice our size, we’re positioned to take on bigger, more diverse projects across music, corporate, and special events. We’ve got the tools. We’ve got the team. Now we’re looking for the right person to lead the charge forward on the sales front.

This is your opportunity to build something meaningful, not just inherit a pipeline.

How to Apply:

Send your resume, a short intro, and a highlight reel of wins—past clients, projects, or relationships you’ve helped develop. Confidential inquiries welcome.

Senior Technical Specialist

Full Time / Harford Sound LLC

Harford Sound is a growing, full-service live event production company seeking a senior-level technical specialist to support our lighting and LED/video operations. This role exists to provide experienced technical oversight, reduce bottlenecks during peak season, and support a young, ambitious technical team as we continue to scale.

This is a hands-on technical role, not a management position.

What You’ll Do

Technical Design & Review

  • Draft and engineer lighting and video systems for small to mid-scale events

  • Design modular LED wall layouts, signal flow, power distribution, and data paths

  • Review and sanity-check larger system designs prior to deployment

  • Assist with load calculations, cable planning, and overall system optimization

  • Finalize equipment orders and packages prior to warehouse prep

Technical Support & Oversight

  • Act as a senior technical escalation point for lighting and video questions

  • Support on-site troubleshooting related to lighting systems, LED walls and signal issues

  • Provide guidance when unfamiliar or complex technical situations arise

  • Help reinforce technical standards and best practices across departments

Repair & Maintenance Support

  • Assist with advanced troubleshooting and repair of lighting fixtures and LED video equipment

  • Diagnose intermittent or complex technical issues beyond basic cable or component repair

  • Help improve testing, repair, and preventative maintenance workflows

  • Serve as a technical resource when standard repair paths are insufficient

Execution & Support

  • Support warehouse prep and QC as needed

  • Deploy systems on events as needed

  • Provide cross-discipline technical support during peak seasonal demand

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Improve documentation, workflows, and repeatability across technical systems

  • Help simplify prep, testing, and maintenance processes

  • Reduce technical decision load on department heads and senior leadership

What This Role Is Not

  • Not a department head

  • Not a people manager

  • Not a primary sales or project management role

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of live event production experience with a focus on lighting and/or LED Wall Deployment

  • Strong technical foundation with the ability to troubleshoot under pressure

  • Comfortable drafting systems and working in production software

  • Demonstrated repair and diagnostic ability beyond basic cable or component fixes

  • Cross-discipline familiarity (audio, lighting, video) a plus

  • Calm, collaborative, solutions-oriented approach

  • Able to work within defined structure and established leadership

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: Competitive and commensurate with experience

  • Overtime opportunities during peak production periods

  • Health insurance contribution

  • Paid time off and paid holidays

  • Company-supported training and professional development

  • Access to high-end production equipment and large-scale events
